We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager or Acting Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career and progress into a Nursery Manager position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, newly established Montessori nursery in Uxbridge, registered for up to 50 children aged 2–5 years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real impact, introduce new ideas and work closely with a supportive and enthusiastic management team.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, motivated and ambitious childcare professional who has strong EYFS knowledge and the leadership skills to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the nursery.
You may already be an experienced Nursery Manager, or you could be an established Deputy/Assistant Manager with around 3 years' senior childcare experience who is now ready to step up.
You will receive support and guidance as you develop into the role, with the opportunity to build your management experience and progress your career within a growing nursery group.
Key Responsibilities
As Nursery Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Leading, supporting and motivating the staff team to deliver consistently high-quality childcare and education.
- Ensuring children receive a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development.
- Promoting positive and professional relationships with children, parents, colleagues and external professionals.
- Maintaining and promoting high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and EYFS practice.
- Ensuring the nursery operates in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and compliance requirements.
- Supporting staff development, performance and training.
- Taking responsibility for delegated tasks and contributing to the continuous improvement of the nursery.
- Working closely with the Directors and management team to implement ideas and develop the setting.
- Supporting other members of the nursery team and creating a positive, professional working environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Level 3 qualified or above in Early Years/Childcare from a recognised awarding body.
- Experienced in a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Acting Manager or other senior childcare role.
- Ideally has around 3 years' experience in a senior childcare position.
- Confident and ready to take the next step towards Nursery Manager.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for children.
- Confident leading and motivating a team.
- Highly organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Positive, proactive and willing to take responsibility.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English.
- Knowledgeable and confident in the EYFS framework.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Essential Qualifications & Training
- Level 3 Childcare/Early Years qualification or above.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS.
- Child Protection and Safeguarding training.
- Behaviour Management training.
- Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references.
